PROJECT 3 - WOODHOUSE

As a creative herself, the client knew exactly what she needed and wanted in her kitchen - a practical and inviting space full of texture and warmth. A deep blue lacquer was selected and used throughout the kitchen, bringing texture and movement into the space. By using a mixture of V groove and profiled doors, it gave the rich blue a point of difference and created texture - paired with a similar coloured, tiled splashback, movement is observed along the cooktop wall. To balance out the coolness, warmth was brought into the kitchen through solid timber detailing. Using solid timber floating shelves and a timber detail to the bar leaner to tie in with the timber trims on the windows, provided contrast and gave interest to the otherwise cool space. The client requested an up-stand to conceal the sink and dishes as the kitchen was located in an open plan room, adjacent to the living area. Corian drainer tray grooves were seamlessly routed into the bench to finish off this wonderful space.
